Teams : Brockham Green
1st Xl
Captain :
Mike Tapper
Having become the 1st Brockham captain to raise the S.D.L. trophy, has decided to continue for a 2nd term (mug!).
Has bought another new bat, so, no runs from him this year.
Vice Captain :
John Ratcliffe
Wicket keeper/ batsman. Club professional & club first aider. Missed 2nd half of season due to injury & property developing. Look forward to having him back next year. A big fan of not giving points to West End Esher.
Players
Richard Brown
Second season with the 'Mighty Brockham Green' . Self appointed big brother of Phil, & 'sledging apprentice' to Joey!! Another big hitter, prefers to go aerial. Re-arranger of dressing rooms, & a fine exponent of the more basic forms of the English language when he is out.
Robert Clark
Well travelled fast bowler. Has been the best bowler in the league for a few years. Kindly chose to only play half a season to allow Haines, Jordan & Weill to have a bowl. Can be found in The Fox Revived most nights.
Mike Duncan
Having continued success in his quest to run out every member of the club (only has Joey to get). Chairman of the fines committee. A very, very nice man. Has recently bought a small island in the Caribbean.
Mark Haines
Should be full of energy this year, having had a rare year off from making babies. Has never been got out at nets & never drops a catch.
Dan Jordan
Big hitting (must run in the family) left handed batsmen. Keeps his head when all around are losing their's. Should probably bowl more. Club would like to see him back.
Darren Jordan
Has recently joined Haines & Weide as an inductee to the Sussex Cricket Academy.
Has decided not to score many runs this year as he has no room for any more tankards on his mantlepiece.
Billy Scott-Malden
The fittest player in the league. Has a very polite appeal. Would be Mike Duncans vice captain in a posh XI. Leagues highest wicket taker last year, kindly sent his butler to pick up the trophy on his behalf.
Paul Tipping
Has been playing darts to keep himself fit during the winter.
Claims he will score 500 league runs this year, by July will probably settle for 250.
Gerard Weide
Left hand bat all rounder. Hits the ball miles, takes loads of wickets, never drops a catch & plays golf right handed (makes you sick, doesn't it?).
Chris Weill
Just ahead of Mark Haines as most agile fielder in the club. Picked up some very important wickets towards end of season. Wescott's loss is our gain. Someone needs to buy him a razor though!
